Posted on Thursday, November 17th, 2011 at 7:46 pmAs I may have mentioned, I’m trying to write a brand new novel during National Novel Writing Month (this month! you can check my progress here!). It’s eaten my days in the very best way. I have to reach at least 50,000 words by the month’s end. That’s over 1,500 words a day. So far it’s coming along nicely. I even reach my day’s goal early today, so I can think about other things for an hour before I go back and try to get ahead a little bit. While I have a few moments before a cloud of new ideas starts poking my brain, I wanted to post something. Anything. While I’m afraid to show my super-sketchy rough draft of a novel, I’m not afraid to show you what’s happened to me during the month thus far. It’s not pretty. ![]()
Note the permanent typey fingers, the sleep-deprived crazy eyes, the blob-like mushy feeling from not moving until each day’s goal is reached, and of course the paranoia that I will not make it to the end.
NaNoWriMo and Me
Posted on Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 at 10:21 amIn 2009, I participated in National Novel Writing Month (unofficially). The outcome of that was Survivor of Ceres. Yeah, how cool is that? To celebrate, I created a coupon for the smashwords ebook version (which covers a wide variety of formats). Survivor of Ceres will be free on Smashwords for the entire month of November! Use coupon code: YL89C to get your free copy.
This year I will be participating again. Maybe even officially this time. Happy NaNoWriMo!
Survivor of Ceres now only $0.99!
Posted on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 at 7:30 pmYep. If you own an e-reader and are looking for some sci-fi action, now’s the time to check out Survivor of Ceres!
Oh! And the paperback version is about $10 on Amazon, if you like holding words in your hands.
What, what?
Posted on Thursday, August 18th, 2011 at 10:50 amWhat is that? A paperback version of Survivor of Ceres? An actual, physical book that has a texture and new book smell?
Yes! Yes, it is!
As far as I can tell, you can click this link and buy the paperback version of the book.
It’s not completely on Amazon’s main site yet. That’ll probably finish in the next few days. You can definitely trust Createspace, though. Amazon partners with them! Also, Createspace sites don’t take as much of the royalties, so they’re a bit nicer for authors.
* Friends and family can get it cheaper through me. Just ask!
HOLY CRAP I have a paperback!
Posted on Monday, July 25th, 2011 at 7:08 pmSoC website is live!
Posted on Monday, July 18th, 2011 at 9:46 pmNothing too fancy, but go to the Survivor of Ceres website if you’re looking for free chapters to read or want to know where to buy the book. Within the coming weeks, I’ll probably add an art page to show some of the behind the scenes stuff I did to develop the book.
Survivor of Ceres
Posted on Friday, July 15th, 2011 at 4:55 pmLooking for something to read? Do you have an e-reader? Well, look no further! My sci-fi novel, Survivor of Ceres, is now available through Kindle and Smashwords! Kindle handles… well… Kindle, and Smashwords handles prettymuch everything else (nook, kobo, stanza, etc.). I’ve added some links below. There will be a physical book as well, but that’s going to take a bit longer to set up. Just click one of the buttons below to go to that version of the book.
Oh! And if you’d like to read a PDF sample first, click here.
